Get yourself something to drink and be prepared for yet another long article to lead you through the second day of the ’New Beginnings with K-POP SUPERFEST’. Today was MCed by Alexa and SanE and the fans got to see the performances of Everglow, ONF, KARD, A.C.E, Yubin, MCND, AleXa, Cignature, MAJORS and YOURS.
The Girl power for the start
The first group to perform was MAJORS with their song ’Dancing in the starlit light’, their first English-only song ’Obvious’ and ’Stronger’. The girls filled the stage with their sweet voices and captivating melodies of their songs.
YOURS trainees were next to take the stage. Six girls performed the track ’My Memory is YOURS’. For the second song the girls were joined by two male trainees from their company. And another male trainee joined them for the third song which was a dance cover to a remix of Blackpink songs. We truly hope to see YOURS again in the future as we did saw their potential in all the performances!
To continue with the girl groups line-up, CIGNATURE were next to perform. The girls took over the stage with their debut song ’Nun Nu Nan Na’, following shortly with ’ASSA’ and ’Arisong’. They were making constant eyes contact with the camera, making our hearts flutter. Chaesol, Jeewon, Seline, Chloe, Belle, Semi, and Dohee were simply as sweet as they could be and even the fans complimented them heavily in the comment section.
For a change of atmosphere AleXa was next to perform with ’Bomb’, ’Kitty run’ and ’Extra’. She presented us with energetic and explosive performances during which she did not stop for a breath, a true dancing queen. The explosive stages made us marvel where she gets all that energy from. Intense and playful AleXa was what we loved!
Boy groups joined
MCND started off strong with their debut song ’Ice Age’. With clean dancing this bop son was a pleasure to watch but also listen to. During the short talk ment which followed the boys said it has been a while since they performed this song, but they surely enjoyed singing the track again. They were full of energy during their MENT talks and joked with one another, reminding us of the feels from real concert talk breaks where we get to enjoy this exact atmosphere with the idols.
Their second song was ’Crush’ with ’Not over’ following right after a short ment. The last choreography was overflowing with sharp edges and interesting moves which made us check the original MV and dance practice right after the concert was over.
The next to claim the stage were A.C.E. Their performance started with a powerful dance break. The members were wearing hanboks over-jackets and blue latex-like trousers which seemed to shimmer in light. Right after captivating us with their dance the boys performed ’Favorite Boys’. The theme followed the official MV for this song with the hanbok jackets and designs on the screens behind them and it gave off a bit of a spooky feel as well.
As the boys stated during the MENT they wanted to calm down a bit after giving such a strong performance, so they took us to the pink clouds-filled sky with ’Stand by you’. This ballad showcased their incredible vocals which hugged our souls with a warm feeling of not being alone. The fans in the comment section of the streaming agreed the boys totally stole their hearts with this song.
They concluded their stage time with ’Higher’.
Back to Queendom
When we thought the stage cannot get more heated Yubin, the goddess of city-pop, showed as the next artist with ’Perfume’, ’Lady’ and ’Me Time’. She switched from being sexy to being playful and cheeky and we definitely keep an eye on her future releases!
EVERGLOW followed up after Yubin. The girls were like warriors of darkness with their black outfits and almost gothic-like accessories. The song ’First’ matched this concept perfectly. The group had a short interview with the MCs, AleXa and San E, and we must say San E looked very happy to be interviewing the group. Everglow shared they recently had their own online concert so they have been working hard. The fans who watched their online concert posted hearts in the comments to show their appreciations. The next songs performed were ’La Di Da’ and ’Dun Dun’ which really made us love the group even more!
The Most anticipated stages
Even before the concert started the fans in the comments shared whom they are looking forward the most. And two groups won by the number of mentions – KARD and ONF.
KARD, the co-ed group known for mastering the moombahton genre, opened their segment with ’Oh NaNa’. Many international fans heard this song 4 years ago for more than just a couple of times. It is addicting and the chorus is easy to follow as well. During the MENT the girls reminded the fans that BM has recently dropped his solo song ’Broken Me’ which we also recommend to check out below.
BM sent a virtual letter to J.Seph, who is currently enlisted in the military and thus could not perform with them. It was sweet and funny at the same time because BM not only said he misses his fellow member, but he joked he is having a hard time dealing with the two ladies on his own. And this was only the beginning of the friendly and joking interactions the members had on stage, not only during MENTs but songs as well. KARD truly gave off the vibes of siblings who joke around and prank one another while still having each other backs.
The other two songs they gifted fans with were ’Don´t recall’ and ’Gunshot’.
The most summer vibes were brought by ONF as the last group performing. They started off with ’Popping’ which is part of their recently released album with the same name. This groovy song filled with vacation breeze put us back in time to the peak of the hot season. The guys did not disappoint in making us excited and happy throughout their performance. After giving us a ballad song the boys finished their performance with ’Dry Ice’ which was a cherry on top for many fans watching the online concert. Hyojin, J-US, E-Tion, Wyatt, MK and U. Laun were also successful in making some new fans today!
The whole concert today was packed with surprises and encounters. We saw some familiar or well-known groups and performances, but also got to know new ones to keep an eye on for the future.
We would like to thank the organizer Joy Ruckus Club for giving us the opportunity to join this two-days festival. Our thanks goes to the artists as well because they prepared some amazing stages for their fans. We wish them all good luck with their future projects and hope to see more of their work soon.
