The reggae duo walked into the room and greeted the Malaysian press with happy and cheerful smiles. The emcee then gave a proper introduction and welcoming Skull and Haha to Malaysia.
The press conference started with the emcee asking about their first visit and impression about being in Malaysia. Haha convey his regrets and apologized regarding the incident at the beginning of the year as he was scheduled to meet the fans with other ‘Running Man’ members, and is truly sorry towards the fans. But, he is truly happy and filled with joy since he is finally here in Kuala Lumpur with his partner, Skull.
Translated from Korean during the press conference, Haha said that, “ I’ve been to Malaysia so many times while playing the game monopoly but to finally step foot in Malaysia, I felt really happy. Malaysia is a country that I really want to visit, hence coming here with Skull, I hope that we will have lots of fun.” He also said that he’s heard from others that Malaysia is a beautiful and hot country, so he was expecting a sunny day during the showcase since they arrived during the raining season.
Skull agreed, regarding the weather and continued that everything was beautiful about Malaysia; the people are kind and warm. The emcee then said that will try to promise a bright and sunny day for the showcase day putting a smile on the faces of everyone in the room.
The press conference continued with other media expressing their interest on Skull and Haha regarding their lifestyle and view in music. Kindly check out some of the Q & A below.
How did reggae had influence your lifestyle and music upon discovering it?
Haha : As you all know, Skull is like the leading icon for reggae in Korea, from head to toe everything about him is reggae. The first impression of him is thinking that he must be crazy. But the moment I fell in love with reggae, I even started wearing reggae underwear fashion too. My life now is just entirely reggae.
Skull : Everybody think Haha is just an entertainer but his love for reggae is beyond. Of course I love reggae and collect some reggae items but Haha has about 10 times more reggae items than me. It’s really crazy in a good way.
How / When did you start liking reggae?
Haha : At first, I wasn’t that into reggae music but I love reggae type hairstyle and fashion sense. I started then became more interested into reggae music, back then, there weren’t many that were into reggae music and then I met Skull and he became an inspirational of reggae to me.
Skull : When I was in high School, I first listened to ‘No Woman No Cry’ by Bob Marley and I truly loved it. It felt like it was ‘love at first sight’, and when I thought about it, it felt like it was my destiny. Not many people are interested in reggae music. I didn’t expect to be a reggae singer either, but the fact that I am now, I’m very proud of it. I’m very proud to spread this genre music in Korea and to finally shared our passion to Malaysian fans, I truly appreciate it.

Will there be any artist or rookies you would want to do a collaboration in the future?
Haha : Reggae is not a very popular genre in Korea, when Skull and I started as a duo reggae, many people doubted us such as “will they last in this industry?”. We kept pushing and try hard till many people wanted to collaboration with us. This coming Christmas we’ll be having a collaboration concert with the group, Leessang. Also, next year (2014) there will be more collaboration with other artists.
Do you write your own songs and what are your inspiration?
Skull : When Haha drinks. He really inspires me. Our music and songs are always honest and we’re really proud of it. We tell you our story not others. How would you rank the ‘Running Man’ members? (To Haha)
Haha : On one of the ‘Running Man’ episodes, there was a ranking and I ranked the lowest than the guy I think I’m better than, but I think that it’s not about rating myself on the show because everybody has a different role on the show. It’s never like this role is more important or that role is more important, we are all equally necessary to make the entire show which is running man. The most important thing is I’m married.
Skull : Looking at Haha, he is very hardworking at whatever he is doing. Even when he has a tight schedule, he really takes care of people around him and because of this, I truly respect and I’m so proud of him. He’s doing his program show very well and also worked very hard with music.
When will Skull participate in ‘Running Man’?
Haha : He was on ‘Running Man’ before but it was for a short time. But after his new album is released, he might be on ‘Running Man’ again. Also, because of his ‘Bob Marly’ hair is going to be so uncomfortable to run with, I don’t think it will be the right time.
Now that Haha has a newborn child, will he be planning to have a second child?
Haha : I’m very grateful for having a newborn child, his name is Dream. I would like to have a more kids, but I would like to give as much love as possible to the my kid first. Maybe I’ll have another child in the next two years.
Skull : Haha always shows me his son’s picture and loved his family, sot I go to the club and enjoy myself to ease envies and forget everything. Maybe I’ll go club again, just kidding, shall we go to club later? maybe tomorrow.
How do you releases stress since it must be stressful in the entertainment industry?
Haha : Eating. For me is the best way. Skull also loves to eat. Satay, roti canai and nasi lemak. We always like to try new food, we even discuss beforehand what we’ll be eating when we reached Malaysia.
Skull and Haha ended the press conference with ‘Malaysia Boleh’ ( Malaysia Can).
