PosT PANiC is another amazing artist signed to Soundholic Entertainment that Officially KMusic was lucky enough to have answer some questions for us.
PosT PANic debuted as the indie group, United93 (taken after the 2006 film, “United 93“) and released two mini albums, “Yellow Fever” and “Fuck Yeah, Live Junk (Studio Live).”
They began to grow in fame, and when they signed with Soundholic, not only did the name change from United93 to PosT PANiC, but there was a line-up change as well.
The duo now consists of Andy En and nAmpD and their official debut under Soundholic was with their album, “Outer Space,” which was released on April 23rd, 2013.
The boys took some time to sit down and answer some questions for KMusic, their honest answers will have you feeling both touched and laughing in no time.
1) How would you describe your group and the music you make?
We are a 2-member synth rock band called PosT PANiC. We feel that it’s hard to define our genre every time we get interviewed. We hope that our audience would listen to our music and feel it themselves.
2) Do you consider your group successful? Why or why not?
Andy: I believe we will make it. If we didn’t think that we could make it, we wouldn’t have started it in the first place.
nAmpD: We met each other while making music means that we are already half way there. It all comes down to whether we can be self-sustainable. The word success is meaningless itself.
3) Describe your work/creative style. What does a typical work week look like for you?
Andy: I get inspired by something -> I turn on my computer -> I take up my instrument -> I play until I make melodies that sounds right -> I stay up all night
4) Who do you consider as your role model in the industry?
nAmpD: In Korea, people like Yoon Jongshin is an example of a musician who is already a celebrity but still produces great music. I think he plays his role quite well.
5) What do you do to relieve stress and relax?
Andy: Like playing with cats
nAmpD: Or like playing games or sleeping
6) What motivates you?
Andy: The little things we see in our lives. Videos or the view is good
7) Do you have any interesting hobbies?
Andy: I suddenly feel sad hearing this question. I wanted to live a life with no hobbies, but I do like smoking, watching my cat and sleeping.
nAmpD: I collect action figures and I also watch a lot of animes.
8) Do you have any pet peeves or things you don’t like?
Andy: Ketchup
nAmpD: Things that are disgusting (even sea slug and sea squirt). Animal cruelty. Rude teenagers in their 10s.
9) If you could relive the last 10 years of your life, would you do anything differently?
Andy: Although we are all walking on similar paths, I want to delete the time that I spent doing nothing.
nAmpD: Just like people who worked hard to get into ivy leagues, I also worked hard to achieve my dream. I am happy with my life now, but I think that doing what other people are doing is the easiest.
10) Where do you see yourself 5 years from now?
Andy: I want to raise a few animals in Jeju Island and live the life of banishment.
nAmpD: I will probably be living like what I do now, but with a more mature (or older) body.
11) What do you like most and least about being in the music industry?
Andy: It’s great that we have more freedom at work compared to people who have other jobs, but our irregular schedule sometimes makes us feel insecure.
nAmpD: When we tell people that we make music, we always get a “special” kind of look, which is not bad, but I don’t like that. We are just like other people who work in their own fields. We are nothing more than that.
12) If you could work with anyone in the music industry, who would it be?
Andy: I haven’t put much thought into it, but I would be really glad if I could meet another musician who share my taste and passion in music.
nAmpD: I want to collaborate with musician Kim Sarang ^^
13) What things do you not like to do?
Andy: Emotionally taxing things. For example, like getting up early in the morning.
nAmpD: Sports that have no winners or losers. An example would be mountain climbing.
14) If you could have one superpower what would it be?
Andy: Teleportation
nAmpD: Teleportation. Whenever I go for a drink around Hongdae, I always get lost on my way home.
15) What or who made you want to become a performer?
Andy: Korn
nAmpD: I first started playing guitar after I heard Nirvana‘s “Never Mind“. I joined the school band when I was in high school and got to where I am now.
16) If you could perform anywhere in the world where would you want to go?
Andy: I want to perform at the stage of Rock Am Ring.
nAmpD: A great performance venue would be Wembley Stadium, but I am Korean so I would be happy to perform in a gymnastics stadium.
