Brought to Malaysia by Star Planet, a three-hour concert was held on the 23rd of November at Putra Indoor Stadium, Kuala Lumpur. A big surprise was that most of the concert equipment, machinery and props were built and shipped from abroad involving heavy workmanship with some stage props taking over a month to complete.
With 2 days before the concert, fans were starting to gather and queue in hope that they can get a good spot. Of course the concert is for no other than Super Junior’s World Tour Concert < Super Show 5>.
The concert started off with performances of Mr. Simple, Bonamana and Super Girl. The members then held a meet and greet with their fans. Each member greeted their fans by expressing how they have missed the Malaysian fans and saying familiar phrases like ‘Apa Khabar?’ (How are you?) , ‘Aku Cinta Padamu’ (I Love You). Donghae even gave a kiss sound which was later copied by Siwon, causing the fans to go wild. Super Junior-M members were then introduced to the crowd, Henry and Zhou Mi. The boys greeted the crowd fluently in English and Mandarin.
They continued performing their hits such as It′s You, Sexy, Free & Single and Boom Boom. A sea of blue light sticks representing the ELF fandom lit the stage. Fans were all around the stage cheering, dancing, and shouting along to the music created the very intensely emotional atmosphere.
The group then split into units. Eunhyuk, Siwon, Donghae and Henry performed a song titled ‘Cold.’ Kyuhyun, Zhoumi, Sungmin and Ryeowook belted out Michael Bolton′s, ‘How Am I Supposed to Live Without You’ in perfect harmony. Shindong, Eunhyuk and Donghae later performed a powerful and energetic dance which made the crowd scream non-stop. One of the highlights was none other than a solo performance by Heechul, who has officially returned to Super Junior after his required military service.
Not missing out in covering girl group songs, at one of the corners of the stage, Siwon appeared in a blue mini-dress and high heels, singing and dancing to Son Dambi′s ‘Saturday Night’ and flashing his thighs in seductive poses. Ryeowook dressed as S.E.S.′s Bada to sing ‘I′m Your Girl’, while Kangin took on Gain′s ‘Bloom’ and Sungmin did Hyuna′s ‘Ice Cream’. The four men then got together to sing and dance to SISTAR’s ‘Alone‘.
Super Junior even cosplayed while performing the song Wonder Boy as Super (Junior) Heroes which include Iron Man, Hulk, Spiderman, Captain America, Wolverine, Loki etc.

Super Junior-M had their turn to shine as they performed Chinese versions of ‘Break Down’,’A-Oh’, ‘Go’, and ‘Shake It Up’. ‘Rock Star’ was one of the most unforgettable songs as the boys rocked the stage and Eunhyuk asked the fans if they wanted more.
While the song ‘Daydream‘ was performed, the fans held up a hand banner that says ‘Never Leave U’ along with a love formation. The boys saw it and Siwon even held the hand banner on stage.
The show went on with performances of ‘Bittersweet’, ‘Someday’, ‘Memories’, ‘Sunny’, ‘Dancing Out’ and ‘Marry U’. From there, they closed the show. But wait! The ELF’s wouldn’t let them get away with out an Encore of course!
The group opened their encore with their most popular song ‘Sorry Sorry’. They also sung ‘Show Me Your Love’ bringing back old memories as the boys pranced around stage, waving to fans as a sign that the show is coming to an end. ‘Sapphire Blue’ was presented for the fans, and before the evening ended with ‘So I’, all the members thanked the fans for attending the concert and promised together along with the fans that they’ll meet again on Super Show 6.
A total of 28 songs were performed along with spectacular sets and special effects, video clips of Super Junior acting in various themed story lines and the boys keeping the energy high by interacting with the audience. Super Junior gave them an experience that is that going to be very hard to forget. A truly well done Super Show.
