On February 14, 2015, EXO-Ls were able to spend their Valentine’s Day with 8 valentines, EXO. Their Los Angeles stop of the ‘EXOPLANET #2 EXOLUXION’ tour was held at the Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena, which was filled with high energy throughout the entire night.
With flashy lights and crazy remixes, the boys opened up the show with “Overdose,” “History,” and “Mama.” After introducing themselves, the band proceeded to jump into songs from their second studio album, EXODUS. From sparkly gold jackets to fun striped tees, EXO matched their outfits with powerful dancing, soulful singing, and funny antics. At one point, Chanyeol was even running laps around the stage!
EXO-Ls were pleading these ‘Playboy’s to ‘Don’t Go’ as the night went on. The crowd showed so much enthusiasm throughout the night, waving their lightsticks to create a silver ocean. While Kai and Sehun mesmerizingly danced to a beautiful instrumental of “Baby Don’t Cry,” Xiumin and Chanyeol lifted the mood right back up with rapping and sick beats.
Valentine’s Day wasn’t the only holiday EXO-L celebrated with EXO. The entire stadium also celebrated a belated Christmas together with songs such as “First Snow,” “Sing for You,” and “Miracles in December.” EXO also demonstrated their kind and caring sides as Suho and Chanyeol reminded the excited fans to take ‘one step back’ to emphasize on their safety.
As the night came to a close, the boys performed their hit tracks, “Call Me Baby,” “Love Me Right,” and “Growl”. Chanyeol mentioned that he really enjoyed jogging and would like to enter a marathon the next time he came! D.O. expressed his sincere thanks by saying, “Let’s all be one together! Today is such a wonderful experience, and I’ll remember it. This will last forever in my memories. I’m so grateful to be with all of you.” Chen reminded fans that “this is [their] 2nd time in LA” and that “[they’re] going to come back, [so EXO-Ls] better wait for [them] a little longer.” LA fans were extremely “Lucky,” as Xiumin gave fans a sweet nickname: ‘We came to LA, and it’s very memorable. That’s why it’s very easy for us to have fun at this concert. LA means Lovely Angels!”
Continuing their ending segment in black and white tees, Baekhyun said, “We were so shocked so many attended today. My throat hurt, but because of you guys, I was able to do my best today. Are you guys gonna wait for me when I come back? This year we’re gonna have a lot of new songs. We’re going back to Korea tomorrow, but we’ll miss you guys so much. We’ll remember all of your faces, [and] we’ll remember all of you. I’m so thankful!” Just like Chanyeol, Sehun was informed about the LA Marathon as well—“I heard there was a marathon today. I thought you guys didn’t know so I wanted to mention it. First it’s an honor to have a concert in LA. And I didn’t expect so many people, but since there are, I’m very grateful. I hope this is a memorable day for all of you guys. Next time we come back, I hope you’ll be more enthusiastic to see us again. Thank you!” Last but not least, leader Suho gave thanks to the full house, “Thanks to you, we can come to LA. We go back to South Korea tomorrow, but we’ll be back soon. Let’s take a picture. I love you LA. We’ll never forget this concert forever, so please don’t ever forget us. Wait for us, and please be healthy, and we’ll let you hear [the] last song.”
Even though EXO has headed back to South Korea, they will be continuing the rest of their ‘EXO’luXion in North America’ tour with their Chicago stop! Don’t worry Suho, I’m sure no one in that audience will be forgetting EXO and how great the show was!
