As the six member group posed for the second edition of the fashion magazine Grazie, it really appeared as a timeless shoot. The members showed no worry or fatigue regarding comeback preparations, instead they were laughing, telling jokes, making the shoot easy-going and warm. It was as though they haven’t aged at all and as if time hasn’t passed for them.
During the interview, each member revealed their true feelings about SHINHWA and promoting together in all their 17 years together and 12 albums later ,
Lee Min Woo said,“There are over 100 music videos that we filmed as Shinhwa. Whenever I see them, I feel so satisfied and proud.” Andy wasn’t too far behind and added, “Whenever Shinhwa activities begin, everyone gets pumped. More than promoting alone, we fill in each other′s empty spaces when we′re together as six.” Kim Dong Wan made it sound as though them together is one big family reunion, “Whenever Shinhwa promotes together, it feels like a detached robot that comes back together again, when we’re together, our power gets stronger, right?”
“Now that Shinhwa Changjo (Shinhwa′s fanclub) is back up again, the fans seem to be preparing a huge union. We can see the communities and fanclubs of each member moving together. We made our 12th album title We, and with fans becoming one too, I think it′s pretty cool,” shared Eric. Jun Jin also added, “Sometimes, all the things that happened in the past 17 years pass by quickly in my head. Then I think that I should work even harder.”
Bringing the interview to a close Shin Hye Sung shared that they may secretly or openly enjoy new fans more then keeping their old fans on their toes, “This might be a very typical answer, but I′m really anticipating and curious about the reactions of people when they hear the album for the first time.”
Many people look as SHINHWA and wonder “Are they relevant? At this age?” The short answer is, yes of course but it really doesn’t matter. Why is complicated though; it isn’t their egos or time that made them this long but their chemistry. When I look at SHINHWA I think of the Rolling Stones, relevancy is just an idea because they’re legends they don’t need to be relevant. This really gives me hope on not just my favorite groups lasting but the witnessing the strength of friendship over the coming years. As fans, we have seen them go from charming boys to these timeless men which makes you wonder “What’s their next move?”
