K-Pop Star Contestant ‘Akdong Musician’ Duo —A Breath of Fresh Air

Akdong Musician are a brother and sister duo that are competing on the reality competition, “K-Pop Star“.

Lee Chan Hyuk (16) and his younger sister, Lee Soohyun (13) are headed to next week’s K-Pop Star finale. They captured the hearts of the audience with their covers of popular songs such as SHINee‘s “Lucifer“:

They have written chart topping original songs, and are the first artists to write and perform their own songs on the show. This has garnered them much attention, by audiences and judges alike. Their most recent song, “Crecendo” shot to the top of the music charts in Korea.

According to Lee Chan Hyuk, he has written over 50 songs, and is in the process of writing more.

Despite whether or not they win “K-Pop Star” or not, these young artists are talented enough to go far in the industry, with their unique music style and fresh concept.
