And the winner is…BoA!
My Queen, and the Queen of K-Pop, of course. She released her 8th studio album, “Kiss My Lips” this past May, and wrote every song on the album.
It was glorious.
The first single was the title single of course, “Kiss My Lips,” which BoA explained in her 1theK #hashtag interview, was her baby, the last song on the album that was written.
This song was a sort of ‘come hither’ song, and she described the feeling as a girl trying to hit on a cute guy at the club.
However, the first one she talks about is the song, “Who Are You,” featuring Gaeko and was her first song written for the album. I didn’t actually like this song that much at first. However, it is now one of my favorite songs from the album.
In the interview, BoA explains the concept of the song, and how she wanted to describe sogaeting, or blind dates in a humorous way. How it was exciting, and meeting new people in hopes of finding love.
She chose to stay out of the music video for the most part so her fans could enjoy the plot of the music video without being distracted by her (and I probably would have been). But, since it was her music video and there was no way she could not be in it, she appears as a singer on the tv.

The album is amazing. It contains 12 tracks, and while I like all of them, my absolute favorites, besides the ones listed above, are “Shattered,” “Smash,” “Clockwork,” “Greenlight,” “Hello,” and “Blah.”
If you love BoA as much as I do, don’t forget to pick up “Kiss My Lips” via iTunes!
