KBS’ Programs On Standby Due To New Labor Strike?

After a few months since their first strike, National Union of Mediaworkers – KBS Branch has decided to go on another strike once again.

The 11-member voting council announced that the strike will begin on November 9th at 5:00. Through the strike, they plan to change the rules for internal position appointments, to two thirds by votes to, when they appoint a new CEO in office.

The National Union of Mediaworkers – KBS Branch, consists of 1,200 journalists and producers. The union has also encouraged the KBS Labor Union to join the strike. It was revealed that if KBS Labor Union joins the walkout, 4,000 to 4,700 KBS employees will be on strike. Which will lead to huge problems with programming and broadcast schedules.
