If you are like me and find yourself in the far reaches of the internet when searching for “fan cam” videos is the last thing you should be doing before your deadline, Kiha & the Faces has a solution for you. Simply playing the K-Indie band’s new single “New Years Luck” reminds you that you shouldn’t bank on New Year’s luck and should just work harder. You might think I’m joking, but I’m not.
The song goes on to say that luck actually might play a part in how your fate turns out, but this music video is definitely an anthem against being passive. The video is so unbelievably simple; two-thirds of it is spent looking at Korean words written on yellow lined paper and the remainder is Kiha in Korean formal dress-wear dancing on a beach. Because the meaning of the video is so reliant on you understanding hangul the video I will embed is the 1theK version, which comes with handy English translations in the CC section. However, if you would like to support the artist directly, the link to the un-subtitled version on their YouTube page is right here.
I am still singing the word ‘안돼’ over and over again, it’s that catchy. If you are like me and can’t get enough, Kiha & the Faces have released an album with this song and two remixes, an acappella version and an instrumental version that you can buy here on itunes.
