Now that “Secretly and Greatly” has wrapped up filming, actor Kim Soo Hyun is moving on. As of now, he is taking a break to consider his next move. He will participate in the promotional activities for the film in June, but as for what role he will take on next, he is unsure.
According to the actor’s agency, Key East Entertainment, “He has already received drama offers and will be reviewing them,” an agency representative stated.
Best known for his role as Song Sam Dong in the drama, “Dream High,” and the crown prince, Lee Hwon in the historical drama from MBC, “The Moon Embracing The Sun.” He also made an appearance in the movie, “The Thieves,” playing the role of thief, Jampano.
“Secretly and Greatly”, his newest film, was inspired by a webtoon from 2010, and is about a North Korean spy who acts stupid as part of his disguise.
Kim’s role, Won Ryu Han masquerades as Bang Dong Gu, a happy go lucky fool teased by the neighborhood kids. But it’s just a rouse. In a second, he switches his personalities, becoming a top-notch spy.
Won is a member of the 5446 Corps. North Korean’s most elite forces, trained these spies with one goal: to unify Korea. When the spies are dispatched to South Korea, they each disguise themselves. Won plays the village idiot, and his two other friends take on the roles of an aspiring singer and a high school student. His fellow spies on this mission are Lee Hae Rang and Lee Hae Jin, played by Park Ki Woong and Lee Hyun Woo respectively.
Once they get settled to life in South Korea, they receive orders for an important mission. These instructions are not to be ignored. Their North Korean army instructor, Kim Tae Won has instructions to kill all traitors. Will they follow orders, or flee? If so, Will Tae Won catch them?
