The music industry is filled with numerous individuals that are talented beyond recognition. Usually when you are asked to name a rapper you usually think of numerous rappers from idol groups and a few solo artist but over all, that does not stop you from listening to them because they are so talented and of course attractive. So here we will shed light on artist who have gone solo and are solo rappers, mixed with a few oldies but goodies of the top 10 rappers you should give a try.
1. T.O.P
The lead and charismatic rapper to the most popular boy band in Asia and next stop the world, BIGBANG. Before T.O.P was a rapper for the boy group he was actually an underground rapper much like Dok.2 when he was young, under the name Tempo. T.O.P has also made a name for himself as an actor for his praised performances in dramas such as “I AM SAM” as well as films such as the “The Commitment.”

2. TIGER JK

Known as hip-hop royalty along side his wife Yoon Mi Rae, Tiger made his debut in 1995 in Drunken Tiger when hip-hop was taking off in the Korean music industry as has been seen as one of the leading pioneers. Known for his soulful rap lyrics and the ability to spit fire, he has worked with numerous hot acts such as M.I.B, Jay Park, and of course MFBTY which consist of himself, his wife Yoon Mi Rae, and Bizzy.

3. DUMBFOUNDEAD
Well known in the states where he got his start but in the past few years and has shared a stage with Jay Park and his AOMG crew, and hip-hop royalty Yoon Mi Rae and Drunken Tiger. At the age of 17 living in LA, he made his way free-styling at underground rap battles. Now he’s traveling across the globe making a name for himself with his own style of rapping with a hint of The Quest of Tribe.

4. Bizzy

Bizzy (Park Jun Young) made his debut in 2008 with his only album “Bizzionary” under his company Jungle Entertainment, but now he has taken a break as a solo artist and is focusing on making music with his crew MFBTY formed by Tiger JK and features Yoon Mi Rae.

5. Teddy

Before he was producing tracks for G-Dragon, Taeyang and 2NE1, Teddy too was a member and leader of the popular YG Entertainment hip-hop boy group 1TYM along with future MC Danny Im during the late 90’s and early 2000’s just as hip-hop was just making its way onto the Korean Music scene.
The group debuted in 1998 and lasted until 2005 when member Oh Jinhwan left for military enlistment. From there, He began writing and producing for YG’s current biggest boy band, BIGBANG.
Fun Fact: Teddy turned down the opportunity to work with Lady GaGa because he was focusing on YG’s upcoming girl group, 2NE1 at the time.

6. Dok.2
Affiliated with The Movement Crew and the co-founder of the independent hip-hop label Illionaire Records. Dok.2 has produced for some of the biggest names in hip-hop such as Jay Park and Drunken Tiger. Dok.2 can be seen as a prodigy is some ways hitting the music scene at the tender age of 12.

7. Tablo
Before he was known as Haru‘s dad, Tablo was apart of YG Entertainment hip hop group, Epik High. YG’s veteran went from trainee to artist to one of their song writers and producers. Tablo produced songs for not only Epik High, but for Taeyang‘s album ‘Rise’, G-Dragon, and his own work. Tablo has done well to establish himself as a talented solo act as well.

8. THE QUIETT
He made his debut in 2003 at the age of 16 with his very first mixtape and took it from there. He has collaborated with his co-founder of Illionaire Records as well as with Jay Park, Dumbfoundead, Crucial Star, Jerry. K, Kebee to name a few. THE QUIETT has made numerous contributions to the evolving genre in the Korean Industry.

9. Huckleberry P
Huckleberry P is acknowledged as one of the most gifted freestyle MC’s in Korea, not just a solo artist but also as a member of Paloalto’s Hi-Lite records. He is known for his storytelling that has brought him some internation recognition.

10.Gray
Gray made his debut just last year under Jay Park’s independent label AOMG and one of the first artist to be signed to his label.
