In August 2012 Mnet‘s fourth season of it’s talent show, “Superstar K4″ aired. The season featured judges Lee Seung-Chul and Yoon Mi-Rae as well as new judge PSY. Over 2,080,000 contestants applied for the show, surpassing the previous years record.
Of all the applicants that applied, 115 were given a ticket to “SuperWeek” and in the end it came down to 12 finalists which was an increase from the previous two years.
One of those 12 contestants was none other than 15-year old Yoo Seung Woo and for his first performance he chose “My Son” by Kim Gunmo.
His performance got him past the round and into the top 9. For the next show Yoo Seung Woo performed “Passion” by Se7en.
Once again getting a pass to the next round, Yoo Seung Woo was now into the top 7. He performed “As I Say” by Sagging Snail. The performance got him into the top 6 were he chose to sing “Butterfly” by Jason Maraz, you’ll have to check out Yoo Seung Woo’s article on his covers to see a performance of this song. It was at this point that Yoo Seung Woo was unfortunately eliminated from the competition.
Yet he obviously did not let this stop him. You can check out Yoo Seung Woo’s debut and other songs in his profile article found here.
You can also check out a couple of the group performances from “Superstar K4” below. Unfortunately, during the duet with Kim Jung-Hwan for 2NE1‘s “I Love You,” Yoo Seung Woo was not feeling very well and had a very hard time singing the song.
