Boyfriend’s first Japanese single, “Be My Shine” has already topped the Oricon Daily Chart as number one! This feat would not have been possible without their enormous amount of fans, numbering up to 48,000 during their high-touch event in Japan, supporting them.
“Be My Shine” has an upbeat and cheerful sound that easily draws in an audience. The members’ vocals were really well executed as they sing out their confessions for their listeners to be their “shine.” The song is about the pure and guiltless love that most people dream of having when they were young. It gives a sense of hope for the youth and brings nostalgia to those who are a bit older.
With the full music video finally released on August 30th, it was just as celebrated as the song itself. The scenery was set in an arrangement of different but simple indoor environments, all pale or white in color; adding to the innocent and pure like essence of the song.
The handsome boys were dressed in pastel colors that charmingly compliment the music video. Fans exclaimed, “How can they be so pretty???” and “Jo Twins, you are a beautiful mystery that scientists can’t solve.”
Looking pretty and making cute and lovable gestures isn’t the only thing that Boyfriend knows how to do though. The group’s choreographies have never failed to amaze me and this one is no exception. I would rank them among the finest dance groups out there. If Boyfriend continues to walk down this path, there’s no doubt that these rookies will climb their way to be one of the best idol groups there is. Take a look at their MV for “Be My Shine” and see for yourself!
