Dynamic Duo, led by popular Korean hip-hop musicians Gaeko and Choiza, is all set to perform in two major Canadian cities—Toronto and Vancouver—in March 2016.
Their latest 8th album, “Grand Carnival,” was released in November 2015.Grand Carnival is actually the name of the Dynamic Duo’s tour. The album is based on the idea to share their stories of life as musicians.
As one of Korea’s most famous hip-hop group, Dynamic Duo was awarded the TOP 10 at MelOn Music Awards in 2013 for their seventh album, “LUCKY NUMBERS.” They also secured #1 wins at four music shows with their title song “BAAAM” and won the 2013 Mnet Asian Music Awards for ‘Best Rap Performance.’ Their second album, “Double Dynamite,” was selected as “Best Hip Hop Album” in the Korean Music Awards in 2006. That same year, they founded Amoeba Culture, a record label focused on new and innovative artists, sounds, and design. Since their first album in 2004, they have released a total of six full-length albums.
Sale of tickets for the concerts in Toronto and Vancouver started on Thursday, February 25th at 8 pm local time on the Korean-Canadian online platform TR Canada—trcanada.com/dynamicduo.
The schedule of the event is as follows:
TORONTO—The concert will be held at the Danforth Music Hall on the 26th of March at 7:00pm.
VANCOUVER—The concert will be held at the Vogue Theatre on the 27th of March at 8:00pm.
Formed in 2004, Dynamic Duo released their debut album Taxi Driver, and it was the best-selling Hip Hop album in South Korea at the time with record sales of 50,000 in its first month of release. They came out with some more popular albums like ‘Confession‘, ‘Attendance Check’ , ‘Solo,’ and ‘The Person Who Should Be Killed.’ In 2013, their 7th full-length album, titled “Lucky Numbers,” was scheduled for release in July. The album featured artists such as Hyolyn of SISTAR, Primary, Zion T., and Supreme Team.
