NH Media‘s much anticipated girl-group Laboum has finally debuted with their cute debut song “Pit-a-Pat“! Laboum has also released a mini-album called “Petit Macaron” that features three songs and their instrumental versions. The song they chose for release is good but not stand-out and I will tell you why that’s perfectly fine with me.
First, the song and video. The song is well sung, every girl has a part and they execute them very well. I appreciate their choreography, it’s not overly sexy and it looks like it would be fun to learn. The video is also cutely done, featuring each girl well and letting us get to know them.
I am looking forward to hearing more from these girls. Like I mentioned, this is a good song, it’s not a stand-out though. That is exactly what we need right now from a girl group – a song that is just well-sung, with an adorable video and even more adorable members. We K-Pop fans have had a hard year, between overly sexy songs and videos, lack-luster performances by some of our favorites, scandals, rumors and people who don’t seem to know how to behave in public, I really was starting to feel exhausted. The news of another girl-group debut was almost too much but I was so happy with this debut and the debut of 4TEN (read that article over here) for their simplicity and talent. I think that we focus so much on being “blown away” by a debut group we’ve forgotten that good doesn’t have to be flashy to be appreciated.
Do you like this song? What did you think of the video? Let us know in the comments!
