Lay to take on producer position!
‘Model Idol Trianee‘ confirmed Lay‘s participation in the upcoming show. On December 1st, they unveiled the poster below. It reads, ‘Zhang Yixing will officially join ‘Model Idol Trainee‘ as the Nation’s producer. Please anticipate Zhang CEO’s new identity. Let’s produce the boy band of this generation with Zhang Yixing!‘
The media has been responding positively to this news. Many exclaiming that this was a surprise and that they can’t wait to meet Zhang PD. The producers explained that Lay has gone through a similar process. That aside from being an idol, he also can act and dance, making him a triple threat in the entertainment industry. This makes him perfect for this show.
The show is set to air on January 19th, 2018 on Friday nights. ‘Model Idol Trainee‘ formally known as ‘Idol Evolutionism‘ first gained attention for it’s almost identical format to ‘Produce 101‘. Dubbed the Chinese version of ‘Produce 101‘, the show will feature 111 male trainees, battling to debut in a boy group.
