As of April 5th, Lee Hi‘s “Rose” is #1 on the US Billboard K-Pop Charts, knocking Busker Busker‘s “Cherry Blossom Ending” down to #2.
The song was written by YG‘s own Teddy Park and Song Baekkyoung, also members of 1TYM. The song is a R&B House genre, and goes about describing the pros and cons of love, comparing it to a rose.
The song was released March 28th off her debut album, “First Love“. Soon after its release, it hit #1 on various music charts, such as Melon and Naver.
Lee Hi is known as the ‘monster rookie’, as every single she puts out tops chart. YG is usually known to leave fans hanging for a release from their favorite artists, but Lee Hi has made a quick comeback after only six months after her debut single, “1.2.3.4”.
