Rookie soloist, Lee Hi, gained an honorable mention on CNN for her impressive vocal talent.
On November 28, news anchor Suzanne Malveaux did a brief report about Lee Hi on CNN Newsroom International, discussing the success of her debut single “1,2,3,4” that topped major Korean music charts. Susanne went on by mentioning Lee Hi as the winner of singing reality show K-pop Star. In actual fact, Lee Hi is the runner up to Park Ji Min in season 1 of the show. Both of them have signed contracts with one of the “Big 3” (SM, JYP and YG).
Earlier, Lee Hi caught international attention which Billboard dubbed her a “monster rookie” and The Wall Street Journal mentioning her as the “Korean’s answer to Adele” respectively.
To have achieved such international recognition so early in her career shows a great promise for Lee Hi as a young singing sensation and raises the prestige of K-pop Star as a reality program to discover talents in Korean music.
