YG’s rookie Lee Hi released the first part of her debut album, “First Love” on March 7th.
Though it wasn’t originally planned to be released in two parts, Yang Hyun Suk decided to split up the songs and make two different albums out of them.
Both albums symbolize two different concepts-“First Love” represents a youthful and innocent concept, and “First Love: Part II” represents a more mature image.
The title track, “Rose” was composed by Teddy Park, leader of 1TYM, and the lyrics were written by the leader of Epik High, Tablo.
The moment “Rose” was released, it received overwhelmingly great reception from fans. It quickly climbed its way to #1 on many music charts. Lee Hi explained why she thought it was great.
“I think it’s because ‘Rose‘ has such a strong, intoxicating melody that distinguishes it from others.” she said. “Although I like the song, my personal favorite is ‘Fool‘. That is the song that really emphasizes my vocals.” This song was also written by Tablo.
