Just in time for Seollal (설날), the Korean New Year, Lizzy from After School and Orange Caramel puts us in the mood to wear Hanbok with her dance version for “Not an Easy Girl.”
The pop-trot fusion song is shown in the dance costume, while the backup dancers wear traditional korean clothing, Lizzy wears a gorgeous Hanbok-tea dress hybrid. Her dance involves plot like interactions with the male back up dancers, like sitting down for tea, and rejecting their gifts. The dance moves are classy, and yet cool enough to look right if performed by someone in modern dress.
If you are a fan of Lizzy and have watched all of her stages, this dance video still has easter eggs for you. The closeups on her face are very emotion filled, and no one can quite pull off a sneer like Lizzy (save maybe Alan Rickman). Also note that the background includes exploding trees and lightning that you only see if you’re really paying attention. Watch the video all the way to the end, it includes some behind the scenes footage of the green screen process and shows Lizzy having to interact with people that aren’t there.
