Only a week into it’s episodes, SBS drama “My Lovely Girl,” starring Rain and f(x)‘s Krystal, has already topped the drama charts on Youku and Tudou, two Chinese streaming sites. It has also become #1 on both sites’ Korean drama charts, and it is the only Korean drama to be ranked in the top ten of Youku’s overall drama chart.
The drama was sold for 200 million won per episode to the sites, totaling at 3.2 billion won for the entire 16 episode drama, which at this hefty price, beat out “It’s Okay, That’s Love,” which was sold for 2 billion won.
Regarding the new drama’s popularity, the first episodes alone got 5.5 million views on Youku, and 2.6 million views on Tudou.
A lot of people have been speculating that the drama has gotten so much attention because of Rain, who has received positive feedback on his mature acting ability, as well as the ability to transform into his character roles.
