Maboos and Swings have joined hands and released a collaboration music video for the song “Audacious“. However, the video turned out to be way more controversial than it should have been.
The whole video happens in a party full of women in bikinis or clothes that don’t really cover anything. While the artists rap and drink, the girls shake their booties and sweaty bodies to the camera.
This wouldn’t be a problem at all if it was a Western music video, we’ve even seen more controversial stuff in American music videos. However, in South Korea, it’s extremely complicated to release such an exposing video and it puts the rappers in a very delicate situation. It will probably be banned from many channels and they will have problems performing on music shows.
Yet, the video presents a South Korean reality. It’s of common knowledge that Seoul has pretty intense parties and nightclubs where you can see worse situations than the ones showed by Maboos and Swings. Should it really be banned or just broadcasted in a late time so children won’t watch it?
Watch out “Audacious” below and make your own opinion:
Despite the controversy, the two did follow the concept of “Audacious” in the music video, so shouldn’t this be taken into consideration? Also, if you’re a rap fan, you’ll surely enjoy the song, which has a good flow and a cool beat. In case you didn’t know, this is scheduled to be Swings’ last release before he starts his military service. We’ll be wishing him well as he starts this journey and eagerly looking forward to his return!
