On October 20th, girl group MAMAMOO released the music video to their pre-release single, ‘Dingga’. This comes only a couple weeks before the group drops their 10th mini album, ‘Travel’. Check out the MV down below!
MAMAMOO ‘DINGGA’ MV:
The song’s lyrics partially credited to members Hwasa and Moonbyul refer to someone enjoying their spare time alone lazily. Similar to what most of us are doing during the quarantine or with COVID-19 restrictions, we are all wishing to go outside and have fun with friends. Instrumentally, the song takes disco as an inspiration with funky synths throughout. The members’ velvety vocals and raps roll on top the track smoothly.
Examining the MV, the neon theme matches to retro vibe of the tune. It opens with members in casual sporty looks sitting inside the reception of a rollerblading rink. Calling through video calls, we see the members in airs showing off what they’re doing and where they are. All of them entertain themselves within the rink and around other friends that arrive soon after. Whether that be partying it up inside a car or toasting for a drink, the punchy hues of the sets and their outfits lift the atmosphere right up. The video ends with the quartet in smiles, leaving the rink.
Post this scene, the MV fades to black before we see Hwasa alone walk towards someone picking up a pickaxe as we hear a wispy wind instrument played in the background. This could be an indication for group’s upcoming title track for the mini album planned for release soon.
The mini album, ‘Travel’, is scheduled to drop on November 3rd, 6PM KST. Teasers for it will kick off on October 26th with concept photos, highlight medley, MV and performance teasers.
