On September 15th, girl group MAMAMOO released the music video to their latest title track, ‘mumumumuch’. Although fellow member Wheein did not renew her contract with the company, instead joining Ravi‘s label, The L1VE, the quartet came together to release their reimagined compilation album, ‘I SAY MAMAMOO: THE BEST’.
Along with the song ‘Happily Ever After’, the 23 tune long album contains 21 renewed versions of the RBW Entertainment act’s greatest hits and fan favourite B-Sides. These stretch all the way back to their debut with a 2021 version of their 2014 lead single,‘Mr Ambiguous’. Whilst most tracks have a 2021 revamp, some are completely changed up stylistically. These include a rock interpretation of 2019’s smash hit, ‘gogobebe’; and orchestral takes on 2018’s ‘Starry Night’ and ‘Paint Me’.
Back to the current title, ‘mumumumuch’ speaks about spreading the love and wishing for those feelings to last till the end of time. The groovy disco influence is smooth to contrast against the group’s louder funk take with 2020’s ‘Dingga’. As expected, there is vocal perfection with the differentiated tones of each member shining on their own. Combined, it creates a track better than the sum of its parts.

MAMAMOO ‘MUMUMUMUCH’ MV:
Watching the music video, it beautifully shows the members chemistry just hanging out together. Whether that be building a doll house or walking around the pool, we also see the choreography. It looks simple and smooth, great for fans to follow. There are not any strong impactful jolts in movement, but the track doesn’t need them with its lovely and somewhat relaxing vibe.
