After Lee Joon and Thunder revealed their wish to end their time as MBLAQ members, many rumors surfaced regarding the future of one of the biggest and most famous boy-groups from South Korea.
For a few months, the boys discussed their contracts with their company J.Tune Camp and even released a mini-album in order to relieve their fans’ hearts. However, it seems like the break-up will unfortunately happen as Lee Joon and Thunder have been confirmed to not be renewing their contracts with the company.
There was a press release announcing the departure of the two members, which said, “This is Lee Joon and Thunder’s law firm Haesol (lawyer in charge: Na Hyung Jin). On behalf of our clients Lee Joon and Thunder, we are here to make clear our position regarding the truth about the two’s contracts as well as their future activities.”
“First, Lee Joon and Thunder’s contract with J.Tune Camp as well as their MBLAQ activities have ended with their Curtain Call concert at the end of November.”
“And as for their future activities, Lee Joon will solely focus on filming his ongoing drama ‘Mister Baek‘, while Thunder will be focusing on music studies.”
“Lastly, we’d like to thank all the fans who have given their support and love to our clients these past 5 years, and the two will repay fans with a more matured image. Thank you.”
It’s really sad to hear this news and many fans probably feel hopeless right now, but J.Tune assured fans that the group will continue, whether it’s with three members or by adding two new ones.
They said, “We have not yet decided whether to continue MBLAQ activities as three members, or whether we will recruit new additions for the group. However, what is certain is that MBLAQ will continue to exist.”
No matter how bad the situation seems right now, we must keep in mind that it’s not like their gone forever. We’ll still have MBLAQ’s body of music and will still be seeing Lee Joon and Thunder in the Entertainment Industry. Some people often think that changing means that things will get worse because they are not what they got used to, but they forget that some times change comes for the best.
My mom always says that when bad things happen, it’s to prevent worse things from happening, so we must surely try to focus on the boys’ future and support all of them as much as we can instead of standing around, mourning the break-up.
We from Officially Kmusic wish Lee Joon, Thunder, Seungho, G.O and Mir a bright future in whatever they do for our lives, because they deserve it for how much they have given us this past five years.
