Remember when Megan Lee got in trouble with her agency a few months ago, for going for an audition in the U.S instead of attending the rehearsals for her musical? It seems like she did pass the mysterious audition, after all, and it was for something much bigger than we expected.
Megan will star in Nickelodeon‘s upcoming K-Pop inspired show called “Make It Pop.” The show, produced by Nick Cannon and Thomas W. Lynch, will tell the story of students in a boarding school. Megan will play the role of Sun Hi, an expert in social media, who, with the help of a fellow, forms a K-Pop inspired group with her friends Jodi (Louriza Tronco) and her bookish classmate (played by Erika Tham) in order to compete for a role in the school’s musical.
The show will have 20 episodes for its first season and will feature brand new songs and performances.
Russel Hicks, Nickelodeon’s President, Content Development and Productions, said, “Between the enormous amount of shows we have in production, and the strong foundation of our recent launches, we are giving our audience some of the most fresh and innovative content we’ve ever produced. The new daily scripted shows we’ve picked up are right in line with kids’ demand for more content, in different formats, and we can’t wait for kids to see and love them.”
Since “Make It Pop” was chosen as a 2015-2016 show, it might begin in the end of this year or in the next one. We’ll update you when the official date is revealed.
Currently, however, Megan Lee is still handling her contract issues with her company, Soulshop Entertainment, and the agency hasn’t spoken up about the show yet.
