From dinner, to a mini concert and eventually dates with 6 lucky fans, Lunafly is back in Singapore for their second time! Fans from all over the region and as far as the US flew in to catch the boys in action.
Performing for 400 fans at JCube open stage on the 21st of Dec, Lunafly belted out 20 songs from their 2 albums, digital singles and sang covers from the likes of Bruno Mars, Justin Timberlake, Maroon 5 and more!
Kicking off their mini concert, the trio sang the English version of their digital single ‘Day By Day‘. Having ended the song, leader Sam commented how Lukies sang along really well and fans replied, ‘no, we are just lip-syncing!‘ he carried on saying how he disliked the smoke machine as it was windy and that the smoke just gets in their faces and disappears too quickly.
The boys got carried away interacting with fans and later realized they’ve forgotten to properly greet fans. Sam quickly follwed up with, “I am so sorry, its rude of us not to greet you. We’ll do it the proper Korean way. ‘안녕하세요! Lunafly입니다 방갑습니다!‘ Sam greeted he crowd and said, ‘Hello I’m Lunafly’s leader Sam! Good to see you!” followed by Teo who introduced himself in mandarin and maknae Yun who shyly said, “Hi…I’m Yun”
Lunafly then continued with their second song which was a cover of Bruno Mar’s immensely popular song, ‘When I was Your Man‘ followed by Pink’s ‘Just Give Me A Reason‘.
Teo kept fans entertained with his never ending antics. From flaunting his mandarin speaking skills, possibly saying everything he learned, to imitating the way Sam speaks. The boys then continued with a couple more songs namely ‘One Step‘, ‘You Got That Something I Need‘ and Joanna Wang‘s ‘I Love You‘. They concluded the first half of the concert with a cover of Westlife‘s ‘My Love‘ and Backstreet Boys‘s ‘As Long As You Love Me‘.
The MC then took to the stage inviting 6 fans to play some games. Fans were asked to sing any of Lunafly’s songs for 10 seconds and all of them walked away with autographed posters.
Shortly after, Lunafly came back decked out in black and white ready to start off the second half of their concert. Singing their latest single, ‘Stardust‘, the boys got fans cheering in delight. Possibly the first band to give a chance to fans to show their talents, Nega Networks together with Soompi held an MV making contest for this song back in August. Fans were asked to direct the MV with beautiful scenery of their countries or create a storyline for the MV.
They then continued with their first ever OST for drama ‘Pretty Man‘ and specially performed a cover of Justin Timberlake’s ‘Mirror‘ that were requested by fans. Having ended the song, Sam chipped, ‘See I knew you were good singers, I knew it‘. Teo continued ‘Ah! Don’t take pictures! Our concert, don’t use your camera! You just concentrate on us, cause our officials take pictures and….’ having difficulties explaining himself, Teo ended making funny noises & hand gestures trying to make fans understand him. Fans erupted in laughter over his actions and Sam finds its amusing that fans could understand Teo. Teo then started teasing the quiet maknae Yun and left him blushing. Trying to get himself out of the awkward situation, Yun introduced the next two songs they were going to perform. They later continued with a piano version of ‘Superhero‘ followed by ‘니 이름이 뭐니‘
Fans then urged the trio to do ‘aegyo’. Sam finally made a crying face after countless attempts to avoid doing it while Teo danced. Yun, being the most shy among the three, was asked to make kissing sounds. Being a good sport, Yun drove fans wild when he made loud kissing noises.
Lunafly carried on singing another song before the MC took to the stage once again. The boys were then asked to pick 6 lucky fans to go on a date with.
Not aware of the little surprise prepared by fans, Lunafly was caught by surprise when presented with a cake while fans put up congratulatory hand banners for their 450 days anniversary. They blew out the candles and Sam said ‘We’re gonna eat that later please don’t take it away. Thank you you guys for being so amazing.”
They then performed the last song for the night, ‘Fly To Love‘ and thanked fans for coming and supporting them. Fans called out on them for an encore and not long after, the boys put on their Santa hats and came out once again singing a medley of Christmas songs and handed out candy canes and roses to lucky fans. With that, the 2 hour concert came to an end. Beautiful voices, great personalities and endless fan service, they’ve not only gained more fans, but certainly made Christmas this year a memorable one for Lukies.
We would like to that East Entertainment for giving us the opportunity to attend this event.
