Although there is a constant flow of rookie groups debuting in the K-pop scene today, there was once a time in K-pop history where things were taken slowly and carefully. Netizens took a trip down memory lane as an idol group timeline was made on K-pop history.
A photo of such timeline was uploaded onto an online community site recently with the title, “idol debut timeline.” The timeline includes the debuts of the first and second generation idol (groups).
The ‘First Generation Idols’ were the ones that debuted two decades ago, in the ’90s, and includes H.O.T, Sechs Kies, S.E.S., Shinhwa, Fin. K. L, and g.o.d.
The ‘Second Generation Idols’ made their debut in 21st century, and includes soloists BoA and Psy, and groups TVXQ, Super Junior, Big Bang, Wonder Girls, KARA, and Girls’ Generation.
Comments by the netizens include, “This reminds me of the good old days,” “My favorite artists are on the top of the list,” and “I wish they also added more recent debuts.”
Do you remember the days?
