Back in December of last year, Cube Entertainment revealed that Thai trainee SORN would be joining their new girl group CLC, set to debut early this year and it now seems that the group will be making their official debut sooner than we thought!
On the 9th Cube stated, “Six years after revealing 4MINUTE, CLC will make its debut as a five-member girl group with its first mini album on March 19th. They will be a next-generation global girl group, produced with the know-how of Cube artists, who are currently popular in and outside of Korea.”
The company also added, “All five members received 2 to 4 years of professional training with thorough check-ups. The group′s visuals, singing and dancing talent are a given, as well as skills in producing, playing instruments, and speaking multiple languages. Even during their trainee days, they have given many stage performances to raise funds to help children with developmental disorders and are already popular with fans due to their busking skills.”
The group consists of 4 Korean members; Seung Hee, Seung Yeon, Yoo Jin, and Ye Eun, and 1 Thai member, SORN, all ages average to 18 years old.
The name CLC stands for “Crystal Clear” and means “the group hopes to always shine a bright light like a crystal and become a team that continues to show its charms.”
Previously, the members have been backup dancers for label mate G.Na in her music video and performances for “G.Na’s Secret” last year. They have also shot school uniform CFs with GOT7 and B1A4.
For now, Cube has released an episode of what looks to be a new series about CLC called, “CLC’s Love Chemistry #1“. Unfortunately there are no English subtitles for the video but you can enjoy watching the girls showcase their talents and see what their life is like while they prepare for their debut.
