Niel Finds Some Odd Places To Write Songs

We know that writing songs must be tough and sometimes people find inspiration in the strangest of places. Well, Niel proves that is 100% true.

During his “oNIELy” showcase at the Ilchi Art Hall in Cheongdam-dong and shared that he thought of the melody for his first self-composed song, “Affogato” while he was taking a shower.

“I wanted to write a song. Then a melody popped up in my head while I was taking a shower. So I just wiped water off myself and recorded the first verse with my voice without the beats. After I finished taking the shower, I started writing the lyrics from my imagination. Then the song was completed after I asked an arranger for a favor”, Niel said.

I can relate, Niel. I’ve made up some random melodies while taking a shower. It’s a quiet place to think about life and you know, write songs. But hey, “Affogato” is a good song, in my opinion, so it all worked out in the end!
