With this new exciting series of articles where the writers pick their best in all categories, now, it’s my turn. I have chosen “The best summer comeback of 2015” and it’s *inserts drums* BTOB: Born To Beat‘s comeback with ‘It’s Okay’.
The group made their comeback releasing the music video on June 28th, with that releasing their first full length album ‘Complete’ since the boys debuted back in 2012. This R&B ballad was something completely new for them, they went with a different approach, not choosing a more upbeat sound to be recognized because BTOB is a group with 4 main vocals and I understand their choice.
In my heart I hoped they would go with something similar to this:
This was at MCD’s 20th anniversary where they performed Shinhwa‘s ‘Brand New’. Everyone was so excited because they showed that this concept suits them so well, the question is why CUBE Entertainment didn’t let them go this way?
Every Melody, including myself, hoped for that first spot on music shows, they were nominated but sadly no winning because the timing, once again was wrong. Yes, BTOB had more exposure through Sungjae‘s other activities such as his drama School 2015 and appearing on popular music show King of Masked Singer and most recently on We Got Married with Red Velvet‘s Joy, but that wasn’t enough because the summer was hot not just in Celsius/Fahrenheit measures.
BTOB gained a lot of attention performing ‘It’s Okay’ live on music shows, showing amazing vocal abilities with MR Removed videos.
