On June 22nd, NU’EST will hold their first full showcase in Singapore!
Before their debut, they were already familiar with the entertainment industry as backup dancers. They were also featured in many live performances and music videos for their fellow labelmates, Afterschool.
Their current group name is short for Nu(New), Established, Style, Tempo. NU’EST is an “urban electro group, greatly influencing their music styles.” The 5 members – JR, Aron, Baekho, Minhyun and Ren, they made their official debut back in March of 2012 with their title track, ‘Face’. Their debut song was made popular by its unique choreography, which includes the chair-dance.
The group set themselves apart from everyone else in the industry by putting social messages into their songs. With their aim to be the ‘voice of teen generation’, their meaningful lyrics speak of issues like school violence and bullying (1st single – “Face”), and striving for freedom, individuality and dreams (1st mini album – “Action”).
Their most recent comeback turned away from the electro pop they are known for, and highlights their vocals with an R&B ballad titled ‘Hello’.
NU’EST has been performing overseas as well. Recent performances include K-CON 2012 in California, Korean Music Wave 2013 in Bangkok, and their 2nd debut anniversary concert in Tokyo, Japan.
This will be their second time in Singapore, since their mini-showcase that was held last year. Expect to be blown away by the group’s urban electro group with their talent, charms and visuals!
