Back in September, news of a Chinese web series with GOT7 was leaked. The news was swept under the rug under very recently, when a poster and teaser were released at the end of December. The teaser showed members JB, Yugyeom, JR, and BamBam in chibi doll form, hung up on a clothes line. Not long after, remaining members Mark, Jackson, and Youngjae materialize below them. A cute trailer to suit the image of the drama.
This was followed up by the release of the official trailer on January 5th. This trailer begins with a large and mysterious castle, cast in nightfall. Petals and sparkles drift through the air, as a beautiful young woman in a flowing red gown walks in the entry way. A soft melody plays as a single spark forms into JB, donning a crisp white suit. The two begin to dance and a darker spark reveals JR, body clothed in midnight onyx with white accents. As the boys circle each other, the tone is set for the obviously main roles. The remaining members from behind either JR or JB, dressed in their respective colors. The melody picks up, the boys each showcasing a second long dance. The dances form into a group tango with finesse and precision. With the trailer coming to a close, JB draws into the woman for a kiss, as his body slowly morphs into JR. The promotional title of “Dream Knight” appears moments before their lips touch.
The series is a collaboration between JYP Entertainment and a popular Chinese Internet Television site, YoukuTudou.
The casting made news back in August, confirming the lead female role to be played by Song Ha Joon. The drama began filming in the summer, and is set to air this month.
The drama will be a perfect combination of music, dancing, and fantasy, as a young woman with a tortured past learns to find friendship and love with seven mysteriously beautiful boys.
As the anticipation builds, fans everywhere are tweeting, posting, and reblogging. GIF sets have already been made in celebration of another great achievement of the rookie group, GOT7, who’s hard hitting debut skyrocketed them to stardom.
