This week in Korean music it appears that the patience of many fandoms was finally rewarded with debuts and comeback of many of their idols this week. Musically this week there was music from all genres, so there is sure to be something for everyone.
SECRET I’m In Love
SECRET returned with their fifth mini album and title track “I’m In Love.” The song and music video are about how crazy love can make you feel. Sound wise this song is reminiscent of the group’s song “Poison”. It is very much in keeping with the groups other musical catalog.
Ladies’ Code Kiss Kiss
The lengths Ladies’ Code will go to get a kiss is the theme of their 2nd digital release “Kiss Kiss.” After a number of fun teasers the music video was finally released and did not fail to disapoint. The song is funky and up beat, matching the music video.
Winner Color Ring and Empty
Probably one of the most anticipated debuts this year. Rookie group Winner rewarded fans with not one but two music video release, “Empty” and “Color Ring.” Both the songs are ballads and both music videos are full of “moody” solo shots. The talent of the group is evident in both song.
Ensa I Love You
“I Love You” is the official rookie debut of singer, song writer, and musician Esna. Esna is not that new to the Korean music. She has collaborated in the past and has even participated in the OST for “The Heirs“. She is also receiving support from her fellow idols which can be seen in the beginning of the music video.
U Kiss One Love
Kiss Me’s were rewarded for their love and loyalty when U Kiss released the music video “One Love.” One Love is an up tempo ballad, the kind for which the group is well known for. The music video is relaxed and appears to be some behind the scene footage of the guys.
2PM’s Junho released Korean versions to two songs off his Japanese solo album. Both songs have different themes to them. In “Hey You” Junho is playing the bad boy friend and in “Feel” he is a love sick fool. Junho is scheduled to make a comeback with his bandmates next month.
Shorry (featuring K.Will) Snapback Girl
Shorry makes his solo debut with a collaboration with the talent K.Will. The song and music video is a mixture of fun and cute. Seriously Shorry is holding a puppy wearing a bandana. Shorry’s R and B style matched K.Will’s voice nicely.
Taemin Danger
I think the best description for Taemin’s music video for “Danger” was given by one of our writers “Taemin looked like an attack nymph here to start a sex riot.” I think telling you anything else about this music video would take away from watching for yourself. This music video does prove a fact that SHOWLs already know and that is that Taemin is arguably one of the BEST dancers in Kpop. This music video is everything I would want for such a talented individual.
With so many debuts and comes backs this week what was your favorite? Are there any that you are looking forward to? Be sure to keep checking Officially KMusic for all the latest Korean music and releases and news.
