It would appear that Open World Entertainment’s CEO, “Mr. Jang” is attempting to obtain a plea bargain, as he has admitted to all crimes and asks for a reduced sentence.
Mr. Jang was arrested back in April for his involvement in a sexual assault scandal. Taking advantage of his position as CEO, Mr. Jang would take out his trainees and then tamper with their drinks, after which he proceeded to abuse them sexually. Allegations have also indicted that he forced male trainees under Open World Entertainment to also participate is his horrific acts. Police suspect him of abusing 11 trainees since 2008.
Mr. Jang was convicted on August 10th, and sentenced to 6 years in prison along with a mandatory 40 hours in a sexual assault healing program. Mr. Jang’s sexual abuse case had its first hearing today with Mr. Jang acknowledging and admitting to his crimes. His attorney would later go on to state: “The defendant acknowledges and admits all charges against him. However, the defendant worked hard for the spread of Hallyu and is a true business man in the nation’s entertainment industry.”
“There are a couple of misconceptions about the defendant. There are reports of the defendant being related to criminal gangs and violence but that is not true. He has no relations with them.”
Many are already outraged about Mr. Jang’s “soft” sentencing, so news that Mr. Jang is trying to receive less time for his terrible crimes comes as preposterous and infuriating.
