In the latest trend of girl-groups doing the sexy concept, some would say that 2015 would be “The Year of the Booty”. Not that Oppa is complaining, I am fan of the sexy concept. And the booty. MAMAMOO is a group that gets both of these, and their music, perfectly right.
MAMAMOO (Solar, Moon Byul, Whee In, and Wha Sa) is not a group that simply relies upon their looks and provocative dance moves. Instead they rely on things that will never change: sexy music tracks and even sexier vocals.
In a time where it can be hard for girl-groups to stand out from the herd, there is no mistaking the signature MAMAMOO sound. It is a soulful old-school R&B sound backed by horns and matched with powerful vocals.
Case in point MAMAMOO’s current single “AHH OOP!” featuring eSNa; a fun flirty song that is true to their successful formula.
