Belatedly reported, Park Hae Jin was rushed to the ER for an IV after filming for OCN‘s “Bad Guys“.
Around 5 AM on October 4th, the actor was rushed to a hospital in Gangnam to receive emergency care. He returned to his home after filming for the drama, but lost consciousness and had to be carried to the hospital by his manager. According to an affiliate at the hospital, Park Hae Jin was diagnosed with edema of the lymph nodes due to fatigue and was told to rest for a few days.
Against doctor’s orders, Park Hae Jin returned to the filming site after receiving treatment and resting for only half a day. An affiliate of the actor’s agency stated, “‘Bad Guys’ is currently filming the second half, due to its pre-production system. His fatigue built up since he has been filming for the past six days straight without getting enough sleep. Since the other cast members, other than Park Hae Jin, are also injured, Park Hae Jin insisted that he return to the drama site, saying, ‘This is not the time for me to rest alone, just because I’m sick’.”
Other cast members that were injured include Kim Sang Joong who hurt his neck and Ma Dong Suk who is suffering from a leg injury and shingles due to filming numerous action scenes.
Kim Sang Joong stated, “There was no way for us to know the viewers’ reaction until we filmed the first half but we’re thankful for the positive response,” while Ma Dong Suk says, “Everyone has been struggling since the summer by getting injured but I almost laughed out loud after seeing heated response online.”
After the airing of the 1st episode on October 4th, “Bad Guys” had a viewership rating of over 2%, ranking #1 out of all of the dramas airing at the same time. According to Chinese streaming sites Youku and Tudou on October 5th, the drama raked in over 80,000 views within one day.
Let’s hope that Park Hae Jin and the other actors are able to recover. It seems they are very persistent when it comes to filming because of the great response they’re getting. I hope they realize that their health is more important. Here’s to hoping they can recover quickly.
