A Pink filled the stage with their sugary cuteness at Korea Festival 2013 in Singapore on Oct 25!
In matching pink polka-dot frocks, the adorable girls captured the hearts of their fans as they dazzled the stage of their ‘Secret Garden in Singapore’ concert with 7 catchy song performances – oozing with aegyo and complete with winks, waves and heart signs. A Pink further sweetened the deal with abundant presents and plenty of up close and unforgettable moments that left many fans deliriously high.
Being only their second time in town, A Pink’s very first showcase in Singapore drew a huge crowd with Pink Pandas hailing all the way from Thailand, who were spotted in pink get-up and matching pink panda hats! The craze had already started when the girls arrived on Oct 23, where more than 500 fans showed up at the airport and went wild when members Cho-rong, Bomi, Eun-ji, Na-eun, Nam-joo and Ha-young walked out.
Amidst the deafening cheering of excited fans, the show opened with a sweet introduction video of the six girls talking about meeting the Pink Pandas in Singapore, and how they wish to visit the Merlion, Universal Studios and to swim in the Infinity Pool at Marina Bay Sands!
A Pink then took the stage with their debut song ‘Mollayo’ (I Don’t Know), followed by the upbeat ‘BUBIBU’ that was accompanied by fans’ perfectly synced chants. We must say the ‘thumbs-up’ choreography during the chorus for ‘BUBIBU’ was really cute too!
After the opening act, the girls took a little breather and chatted about how things have changed since the group’s rookie days in 2011. Eun-ji shared that the biggest change for her is probably her mindset and attitude towards things – “I am happy that I am now able to enjoy more on stage”, while Na-eun highlighted A Pink’s amplified overseas schedule as a marked change.
Well, A Pink is definitely gaining a lot of interest and popularity abroad. So who do the girls think has the highest popularity in Singapore?
“When I first arrived at the airport here, the first fan sign I saw is for Bomi…” quipped leader Cho-rong, and laughing, nodding in agreement, Eun-ji described Bomi as “cool and attractive”.
A Pink’s ‘love’ and ‘confessions’ for their co-members did not end there! When further probed – Na-eun shared on how health conscious Nam-joo is and how much she loves to take care of the members. Nam-joo in turn praised the maturity of their maknae Ha-young, while Cho-rong told how Bomi is the ‘vitamin’ of the group who never fails to bring them cheer. Bomi then described Na-eun’s charm as being very glamorous and yet down-to-earth, and Eun-ji applauded Cho-rong as a charismatic leader and a good unni (older sister). So much love!
A Pink continued the night with ‘MY MY’ and ‘U You’. Vocalists Nam-joo and Eun-ji showed their great talents and hit the note right, literally. Showering the crowd with the most fan-service was probably Bomi – with super cute expressions and loads of heart signs. Fans must have melted when the girls went from edge-to-edge (of the stage), pointing ‘you you you’!
A video showing A Pink’s day-to-day lives in preparation for the latest comeback – ‘Secret Garden’ then flashed across the screen. The snippets include the touching moment when the girls shed tears backstage after winning their first trophy on KBS Music Bank with the hit track ‘NoNoNo’.
All smiles, A Pink returned to stage to answer questions submitted by fans. Of which, Cho-rong described Singapore fans as very passionate and friendly and one of the best!
Seizing the great atmosphere, the MC asked “So do you want more of A Pink?” – YEAH!
“How badly?” *Screams*
“What songs do you want to hear?” – and the ones we could hear were ‘NoNoNo’, ‘Hush’ and ‘Lovely Day’ amidst the chaos!
Fulfilling the wish of the fans, Cho-rong went “Well, I think this is really a lovely day today!” before starting the next stage, ‘Lovely Day’ and ‘April 19’, and than closing the performance with the clear favorite ‘NoNoNo’ that got fans all pumped up with their signature moves!
A Pink did not end the session with an encore, neither were the girls prepared to leave the stage as yet. Instead, members brought out the gifts that they had prepared and had a fun interaction session to thank their fans as promised! Six fans got real lucky – not only did they get the autographed CDs, they also got a warm fuzzy hug from the girls and the golden opportunity to take a photo with A Pink. One lucky fan was the Thai fan who even left the Pink Panda cap with Ha-young!
More fans walked away with bags of cosmetics during the second round, where the girls had a tough time choosing the lucky stars based on the loudest cheering. Excited fans almost brought the house down with their explosively high decibels!
Rounding off the night, A Pink sat on stage for a group photo with all fans before bidding adieu sweetly, “Did you all enjoy? Thank you so much for coming down today! So happy to see all of you, we really had good memories and hope it is the same for you. We will see you soon!”
Nam-joo then ended with a candid “I love you!”
Indeed a magical night for everyone, we love you too A Pink!
