The Western Seoul Police Dept. has decided that they have gathered enough evidence to move forward with prosecuting actor Park Si Hoo in the rape and battery case brought against him by a woman called ‘A‘ at his home on February 14th.
On Tuesday, they concluded that they had gathered enough evidence from detector tests, forensic evidence and interrogations.
According to a recent press release from the police department, “After looking through statements from those involved, CCTVs, Kakao Talk messages and evaluations from the National Forensic Service, we have decided to forward the case to prosecution and charge Park Shi Hoo without detention for quasi-rape and battery.”
In a recent statement that the actor made, he said that, “The Western Police Department is sticking to their existing results without reflecting on important evidence we gave them. That evidence included text messages sent by the actress, which the police press release ruled were “not important in the case.”
This evidence includes the messages that “A’ sent to Park asking for more money when he offered a settlement. Police say they have found no evidence to substantiate the claim of conspiracy on ‘A”s part.
Park’s legal firm Prume is not pleased with the way the case is being handled.
They issued a statement saying, “The Seobu Police Agency leaked information on the investigation, and mishandled the case in its development. The investigative agency, which is supposed to hold a neutral attitude, acted like the accuser A’s representative, and gave press such confidential information that would act against Mr. Park Shi Hoo. It thus stomped cruelly on the presumption of innocence every suspect has a right to.”
As a result, Prume has filed a petition with the national police agency as well as the Anti Corruption and Civil Rights Association. In their recent press conference, they stated that “A” continued to change her story multiple times during cross examination, leading them to believe that she has been lying.
“K“, Park’s friend who is also involved in the case, is also being prosecuted for the suspected rape and battery.
