In the midst of comeback rumours, SM Entertainment released a statement to clear up any confusion regarding a second album from SNSD’s TaeYeon.
According to the agency, when speaking on January 14 with Newsen, “Taeyeon is constantly working on music, […] With regards to the comeback rumors, nothing detailed has been decided.” But a media outlet recently said that the artist was releasing a single sometime in February.
In October, TaeYeon released ‘I’ and quickly topped the charts while earning many awards on music shows and end-of-year shows. She was also the first member of SNSD to go solo. On top of releasing her mini album, she also held the second concert in SM’s The Agit concert series right after SHINee’s JongHyun.
She has received various recognition from those in the business as a “best idol vocalist”, “OST Queen” and a “powerful emotional vocalist” on top of being the leader of SM Entertainment’s longest standing girl group.
As much as I hope she does have a comeback I know that many others are gearing up for solo debuts and comebacks as soloist so it should be interesting on where she will fit in in the bigger picture. What are your thoughts on these rumours? Let us know.
