Out of the recent releases for party-driven and ecstatic themed summer songs and concepts for music videos this July, the producer hiding behind a cardboard box that resembles a bird headgear known as Primary certainly knows how to drive his fans crazy.
His recent track, ‘Don’t Be Shy‘ is not your ordinary K-pop song with typical beats and message. It is somehow an experimental track with reggae feels that makes you sway your head left and right as if you’re in a hammock by the sea. Adding to this breezy feeling is the collaboration of AoA‘s main vocalist ChoA and rapper Iron. The addicting beat and rhythm compliments ChoA’s immensely seductive voice and Iron’s participation with his deep-toned voice goes well with the heart-thumping reggae music.
But what gives us goosebumps more than anything is the music video itself. Just by listening to the song, you’d imagine something different; perhaps laying on the beach with a special someone. But the moment you click that play button on this music video, I suggest you brace yourself; you’ll experience something mysteriously creepy and eerie from its music video.
Ouija spirit board, poker-faced twins, headless Barbie dolls tied on a string as if hanged, ghosts, Paranormal Activity-like lost video footage, religious symbols on ChoA’s dress and Blair Witch Project-like girls’ sleepover, guns, and Pokémon trading cards being played for money: What doesn’t this video have? Seriously, I would really give it to the person behind this peculiar concept for a summer song music video; it gives you goose bumps and somehow, makes you want to watch it over and over again. It is certainly one of the most unexpected music videos out of the other videos that came out this July.
Watch this dark, bewitching and yet supernatural music video below.
Posted on its description, it says, “PRIMARY’s new single album ‘2-3‘ illustrates the world with the number ‘2‘ in the view of women. The title track ‘Don’t Be Shy’ is singing the woman’s heart saying ‘Don’t be shy with your heart for me before the end of tonight’ at a place being together while hiding good feelings for each other. The easy and addictive chorus melody based on the reggae rhythm as well as lyrics illustrating foxy provocation stimulate strange imagination.”
We can’t wait to see more unique music videos and collaborations from PRIMARY. So what can you say about the music video? Share it with us on the comment sections below!
