‘Produce 101’ is the multi-billion won show created by Mnet and CJ E&M which takes 101 female trainees from all over South Korea and beyond to compete for a spot in a special eleven-member girl group that will be created completely by the public.
From concept, to the group name, and who will ultimately make it into the group, ‘Produce 101’ puts the power to the “Nation’s producers”. With only a month left until the final reveal, it has been announced that the group will be under YMC Entertainment as a co-management with CJ E&M for the project group. YMC Entertainment house such artists as Ailee, Jessi, Sugar Bowl, and Mighty Mouth.
A representative of YMC has stated that they are already getting “love calls” for the new group from ‘Produce 101’. Love calls are people interested in booking the group and offer deals on how to get that group. It isn’t just companies in Korea asking for the group but oversea companies are requesting them as well.
It definitely will be interesting to see how far this group can go and I look forward to watching them grow even more. Have you been watching ‘Produce 101’? Let us know!
