Many have been anticipating the debut of YG Entertainment‘s upcoming boy group that will be picked on their upcoming survival program, ‘WIN: Who is Next?’ The trainees themselves are probably very excited and nervous, but they have BIGBANG, PSY and 2NE1 rooting for them!
PSY shared, “I think WIN is a survival program tailored for 21st century. It’s extremely harsh and cold, but I think it’ll be very interesting.”
BIGBANG’s leader, G-Dragon, described the program as “a real battlefield” hinting the gravity of the show, while 2NE1 ould not hide their surprise when the heard the rule of the program.
JYP Entertainment‘s CEO and producer, Park Jin Young, as well as another producer Yoon Jong Shin, commented, “Creating a program like this simply shows that YG is confident with what they’ve got. That is YG power.”
The program will go on air on August 23rd. The 11 trainees of YG will be divided into two teams A and B for a fierce battle. The winning team will be given the name ‘WINNER’ and will make a debut immediately after the program finishes. Team A, which consists of Kang Seung Yoon, the recently debuted contestant of Mnet’s ‘Superstar K2,’ and Lee Seung Hoon, the contestant of ‘K-Pop Star,’ have 5 members in total with the average age of 20. Team B has 6 members with the average age of 17, with the then boy rapper B.I. who featured in MC MONG’s ‘Indian Boy,’ and Koo Jun Hoe, another contestant of ‘K-Pop Star.’
