Popular media outlets have reported that the man behind the most viewed music video on YouTube, and the #1 artist on TIME‘s list for ‘Top 10 Fleeting Celebrities of 2012’, PSY, has had an “Anti-American” past.
According to Hollywood Reporter, the Huffington Post, and NYMag, PSY expressed his opinion about Anti-American acts on a concert that was held 8 years ago where he was seen smashing an American tank. Busanhaps explained that the root of this issue is when two middle school girls was killed by an American military armored tank during a training exercise. The American military courts judged this matter as an accident which started anti-American protests in South Korea.
They also reported that PSY participated in a song by Korean Rock Band N.EX.T on 2004 entitled, ‘Dear American‘ which some of the lyrics can be read, “Kill those f—ing Yankees who have been torturing Iraqi captives/Kill those f—ing Yankees who ordered them to torture/Kill their daughters, mothers, daughters-in-law and fathers/Kill them all slowly and painfully.”
Korean Christian Missionary Kim Sun Il was also executed by the militants in Iraq, leading to negative thoughts and comments towards the American troops stationed in Korea. This wouldn’t have happened if America wasn’t carrying out a war against Iraq.
Should PSY be convicted in an incident that happened in 2004?
