Time Magazine listed the “2013 Time 100: The Most Influential People in the World“, excluding Psy despite his great success the previous year. He even ranked #7 on the online poll, yet was not chosen for the final selection. Fans did receive good news, until “Gentleman” broke into Billboard’s Hot 100 and the UK Singles Chart.
Two days after its release, “Gentleman” debuted on the UK Singles Chart at #61. As of April 18th, Psy’s single, “Gentleman” was ranked #8 on the UK Singles Chart.
That day, “Gentleman” broke onto Billboard’s Hot 100 Chart at #12. Now, it ranks #1 on their Streaming Chart. The website, Billboard.com has reported one of the main reason it had risen so fast and able to enter the chart,“the music video recorded over 86 million views after only two days since its release.”
Many believe now that “Gentleman” has quickly risen to the top of various other charts, that it can now reach #1 on Billboard. Psy’s previous hit, “Gangnam Style” spent many weeks at #2, but never made it to the top spot.
With his 12th place ranking, he has set ye made another record, this time for being the first Korean artist to have two singles on Billboard’s Hot 100 Chart.
