Brave Entertainment’s Punch is back with a new single after the disbandment of the previous 1PUNCH. Going solo, the fourteen year old vocalist has teamed up with American rapper Silento who rose to fame with his ‘Watch Me’ track that popularised the “whip/nae nae” dance move.
Punch, also known as Samuel, was originally a Pledis Entertainment trainee who grew up among the boys of Seventeen. But in 2013, Punch left Pledis due to personal reasons and came back on the scene under Brave where he debuted in a hip-hop duo with One, who is now with YG Entertainment. The duo debuted last year with the title track ‘돌려놔 (Turn Me Back)’ off of the single album ‘The Anthem’.
When the announcement that One would be moving agencies, many fans were concerned for the future of Punch, thankfully we haven’t heard the last of him yet! ‘Spotlight’ is a full English dance track that shows a more mature Punch as he woos his fans with his sleek style and killer vocals. K-Tigers Taekwondo unit is also featured in the video.
Brave Entertainment geared up the hype for this song with a total of four teasers, but catch the music video below!
It’s good to see Punch back in action and I know many fans appreciated this song being in English since it’s a language most commonly used around the world. I really enjoyed this song and a collaboration with an American artist always helps bridge the gap between the two world. What did you think of the return of Punch? Tell us your thoughts!
