The wait is over and the lovely ladies of Rainbow have finally made their comeback with their music video for Black Swan. Black Swan is off the groups’ third mini album Innocent which was also released recently.
I will be perfectly honest, up until this music video I have always been a little under-whelmed when it came to Rainbow. They had the misfortune of being another one of those groups that had suffered from from very questionable concepts in the past. What ever the problems the groups’ concepts have been in the past seem to have been sorted out and we are left with an excellent song and video. Costuming and choreography had been had been some of the issues the ladies had faced in the past, it was always too much of something. In this case, both of those have been perfected.
The music video itself seems to have a film noir feel to it; kind of dark and gritty. The girls of Rainbow wear two different dresses in this music video one being white and the other, black. The white dress looks light and “flowy” in a way. While the black dresses seem heavy by comparison, a closer look will reveal the long “tails” on the back. They do in fact seem almost “swan like” in their appearance. Even the dance fits in with the song it is in keeping with Rainbow’s style just sexy enough but it does not go over-board .
The song it was great also with a poppy – electronic feel. The chorus was catchy and I am willing to bet this song will get stuck in your head rather quickly. Even the rap section flowed really well with the song , it did not feel like it was randomly added to the song for the sake of having a rap section. Overall I really liked this song and video and I have not real complains to give.
So far 2015 has seen some very strong and excellent performances from the ladies of KPOP thus setting the bar very high for whoever makes a comeback or debuts later this year. Stay with Officially KMusic for all the latest in Korean music and news.
