K-Pop fans are well-known for their generous hearts. This time it’s Rain who can be proud of his followers, as they have donated a big sum of money to celebrate his 11th anniversary since debut.
Clouds from all around the world, including Korea, Canada, Chile, China, France, Hong Kong, Hungary, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Peru, Spain, Taiwan, Turkey, USA and Vietnam, have donated over 11,370,000 won to UNICEF to support children.
The money has been donated under the name of “Rain Fans United” who stated that they wanted to help children who suffers all around the world. The fans revealed that they hope the donations will be used to provide clean water as well as medication and supplies for malaria.
Rain debuted in 2002 with his album titled “Bad Guy.” He quickly gained a huge popularity in Korea and overseas and debuted as an actor in 2003. In 2006 he was mentioned in the Time magazine website article that named the “100 Most Influential People Who Shape Our World.” In October of 2011 he reported for 21 months of compulsory military service and will be discharged on 10th July 2013.
