Fans were pleasantly surprised when RAINZ suddenly dropped the classic dance practice video of their track ‘Somebody‘ on March 27. ‘Somebody‘ is a track is from RAINZ‘s second mini album ‘SHAKE YOU UP‘, which RAINZ came back with on January 23.

RAINZ also showed us their playful asides in this video. As you can see in the beginning, the members are simply having fun in their practice room while warming up. And what’s unique is that hey also danced to MOMOLAND‘s ‘Bboom Bboom‘ on their own volition because let’s admit it— most male idols are pretty reluctant to do cutesy girl group dances so freely. Then they go all serious and professional for the actual dance practice.
RAINZ is a project group. So all the members are from different companies, which means unlike normal K-pop groups, the members did not train together for long. Considering this fact, their synchronization and chemistry while performing is absolutely top-tier excellent. The group moves like a single organism and that’s a commendable feat. The dance starts out leisurely and gains pace with the track. The dance is intricate yet gentle to match the soft-sounding and sweet song.
The group has dropped a choreography video of ‘Somebody‘ previously. However, in K-pop, giving fans a dance practice video filmed by a fixed camera in the practice room is a must no matter how many performance videos have already been released, as it shows off the true extent of the idols’ dance skills as well as the beauty of a dance routine the choreographer so painstakingly made. And to boot, fans wanting to learn the dance can also self-teach themselves using these dance practice videos.
RAINZ is a boy group full of potential. If the video above didn’t convince you of this, just check out their MV’s ‘Turn It Up‘ and ‘Juliette‘ and you’ll know what we’re talking about. And keep following Officially Kmusic for future updates!
